I don’t believe it works. But then I can’t explain why I think I’m a chicken any time someone says “Happy Days”.

Hypnosis can be extremely dangerous and ought to be done by licensed professionals. Meditation can acheive the same results but is less harmful and is best for amatuers. Mental hospitals are full of people who have messed around with amatuer hypnosis. Many universities offer courses in hypnosis.

All that you have to do is Just sit your subjects down on a couch and through a CD in the VCR of the complete collected interviews and speechs of both George W Bush and Condi Rice. That should do it. Oh by the way if this does not work you better have a Medical Team on standby because you will have put all these people into a deep coma, and they will have to be safely transported to a hospital. Good Luck Bob

Wow! There are a lot of myths around here about hypnosis. It is all about influencing someone and make them do whatever you want.
Some examples of mass hypnosis being used in everyday life — This is so common in advertisements.
The advertisers make you believe that using a certain deodorant/perfume makes girls fall all over you. That buying those ab machines which look weird could give you those perfect six pack abs and that…. oh, the list is too long.
So, it is really a myth that only doctors practice hypnosis. It is just being able to influence someone. A charismatic person can make others dance around like puppets according to his whims.
Now, about learning it . You have to learn neuro linguistic programming, influencing techniques(these are used a lot by sales people),language patterns. Maybe go to your library and read books about nlp. There are even some courses about hypnotizing people on the web. Just search for it.
I also have a site where I give a few basic techniques to learn hypnotism. You could check it out. http://www.squidoo.com/learn-howto-hypnotize-free

Hypnotising other people can be quite easy and effective. The only caveat is that you have to know what you’re doing.
There are several ways you can learn hypnosis:
1) from other hypnotists. Expect to pay around $500 for a weekend course, then more for additional meetings. You can find suitable hypnotists at The American Association of Professional Hypnotherapists: aaph.org
2) using home study courses. Expect to pay between $30 to $300 for a good course. You can find excellent reviews of the leading courses at http://www.reviewsnest.com/learnhypnosis .
3) From books. Expect to pay between $10 and $150 for books. Go to amazon or the like. From these options, I’d choose home study courses. They span over a wide range, so you can find a good course to match your pocket. The better courses (such as those recommended at reviewsnest ) are very thorough. I for one purchased the underground hypnosis course (http://www.reviewsnest.com/learnhypnosis/underground_hypnosis.htm) – and am very very satisfied with my results.
If you want to learn more about what hypnosis is all about, go here: http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/hypnotherapy-000353.htm .
Regarding NLP – this is use of language to “program” other people to do what you want. Here’s a short example:
You: “Hi John, You doing anything special this saturday morning?”
John: “Nothing special. Why? What’s up?”
You: “I’m moving. come over and help me load my stuff into the van”
The way you arranged it, John can’t come up with an excuse not to help you without being a jerk. He said he was free, thinking you had something fun in mind. He was wrong. Both NLP and hypnosis can be used on other people without them noticing. You can even get dates this way if that’s what turns you on, lol.
Bottom line: It’s effective, if you know what you’re doing.
Good Luck!
