Does hypnotism work for worry and fear?

I worry constantly about 2 things, death and the 2012 theories. I would do anything to get rid of these fears, honestly. I feel like they dominate my life. I have anxiety and that probably has something to do with the worrying as well. I just want to be able to enjoy my life and live normally again. I hate living like this. Please help.

I have had extreme social fears for a few years now. However, things started to really get insane when I started to develop this fear of talking to my closest friends in the world. They’re becoming distant and I care about them a lot, but I’m suddenly afraid of the few close friends who I have and can’t keep conversations going with them for two minutes. I actually quickly analyze every single thing I say to them. Sometimes, I can’t even look at them when I see them during school, and it’s hard for me to talk to them through AIM too because I’m so afraid. By the way, I’m not in a clique with all of them if that helps any, as a matter of fact, none of them know each other very well and 2/5 of them don’t even live in this town.

On to the important part: My aunt’s boss hypnotizes people and believes he can cure me with four meetings. This is a miracle to me that I might have this opportunity, and I really think I can be saved. I’d really like to try it out, and if my dad changes his mind and decides to pay for it, here are some questions I have about being hypnotized:

-Can something go wrong?
-Do you think it actually works?
-How does he hypnotize you? Is it scary?

You don’t have to answer all of them. Just tell me anything you know, and feel free to share your experiences.

I am 26 weeks along and looking ahead to the delivery and I am very anxious. I have read that fear is what makes the contractions hurt more. . . Is there any truth to it? in your opinion and experience. Does it make a difference if you are able to breath and concentrate and focus, or self hypnotize yourself.
I would like to know what your own birth experiences were and if you had any success with alternative pain regulation. thank you in advance
