Hypnotizing People

I saw this movie in Italian class in high school at least 6 years ago. It was definitely an Italian movie. The actor I’m not too sure of, but I can’t help but think it was probably Roberto Benigni. In the movie he is working on some kind of wacky scheme with another man, possibly his brother. And through out the movie, he has come to believe he can say a word to someone, and make them do what he says. The famous command, I can remember, is Roberto Benigni sitting over his partner (brother?) and commanding him, while wiggling his fingers, to wake up. Can anyone please put my mind at ease and help me with this?

The video game hypnotizes him into thinking he is killing his neighbors girlfriend etc. I think it was brain drain or something as the title. I really want to find this movie I think it used to play on showtime or HBO frequently.

it’s in black and white, im not sure if bette davis is the villain, but its a really cool movie.

How come all of them act weird for example i seen real hypnotist people when ever they put people in a trance those people’s eyes are closed and when ever i do it all of them just stare at one spot without blinking just like zombies and i was wondering am i doing something right or its normal for them act that way?
